Kinetic IT has appointed Dean Langenbach as chief executive officer, with the company positioning the leadership change as part of its next phase of growth and continued focus on “sovereign” technology services for government and critical infrastructure customers.

Langenbach brings more than 20 years of executive experience across technology services, consulting and managed services roles. Most recently, he was CEO of NRI Australia & New Zealand, where the company said he led a workforce of more than 2,500 employees and delivered technology and consulting services to around 300 enterprise and government clients across the region.

Kinetic IT chair Sarah Adam-Gedge said the board conducted a search to identify a leader to guide the organisation through its next stage of evolution. She said the company had expanded its national footprint over the past year, secured more than $600 million in major contracts and maintained double-digit growth.

Langenbach said his focus would be to expand Kinetic IT’s national presence, use AI and advanced technology solutions, and deepen partnerships.

Interim CEO Shane Quinn will support the transition and move into a chief operating officer role, with responsibility for delivery and digital transformation activities for customers.

The board said the appointment would not change current service delivery or customer arrangements, and reiterated that the company remains privately owned and governed in Australia, with security oversight and operational capability retained locally.

Langenbach commenced in the role on 10 March 2026. The board also acknowledged the contribution of former CEO Michael North, who led the company for a decade.
