Tech Data, part of TD SYNNEX, has expanded its IBM distribution footprint across Asia Pacific, extending its specialised IBM practice to 10 APJ markets.

The expansion adds Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and the Philippines to existing markets Australia, India, Singapore and Vietnam. In Malaysia, the IBM distribution will operate under the Tec D brand, the company said.

Tech Data said the move forms part of TD SYNNEX’s broader global expansion of its IBM distribution relationship, which it said spans 20 new countries across Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America.

TD SYNNEX APJ President Jaideep Malhotra said the company was expanding its IBM portfolio into six additional markets and “creating greater access to IBM technologies, expertise, and support for partners across ten APJ markets”.

Mark Martin, VP, Global Vendor Management at TD SYNNEX, said the expansion aimed to connect with a broader set of partners and that the Select Blue programme would provide “a clear path to engage, specialise, and execute confidently”.

As part of the rollout, Tech Data is extending Select Blue, a joint initiative with IBM, to partners across the region. The company described the programme as a structured framework intended to help partners build practices in areas including AI, data and automation.

Tech Data said partners across the expanded footprint would also have access to enablement, financing, pre-sales and go-to-market support. It added that execution in all markets would be anchored in a “globally consistent framework” with local execution and performance accountability.
