Australian IT services provider Interactive has appointed Alfred Flokstra as Account Director, Financial Services, as it seeks to expand work with banking, insurance and superannuation organisations.
Flokstra joins Interactive after roles at Kyndryl, Avanade, DXC and EY. The company said he has more than 20 years’ experience advising financial services customers on cyber security, transformation, operations and infrastructure.
In the role, Flokstra will be responsible for growth across financial services customers. Interactive said it has a history of servicing the sector and is positioning its capabilities around cyber security, hybrid cloud, digital infrastructure, data and AI, alongside compliance demands.
“Across banking, insurance and superannuation, organisations are looking to modernise, strengthen resilience and unlock value from emerging technologies such as AI, all while meeting regulatory obligations,” Flokstra said.
“If you are APRA-regulated, you know the bar for security alone is getting higher and higher. While this is ultimately a good thing, it’s my job to ensure you’re supported and using resources effectively to make the necessary transformations.”
Interactive General Manager for Sales – New Business, Dean Milhouse, said financial services organisations face pressure to modernise critical technology environments while maintaining security, governance and operational resilience.
“Financial services organisations are under pressure to modernise critical technology environments while maintaining strong security, governance and operational resilience. They need partners who understand both the realities of regulation and the practical challenges of transformation.”
Milhouse said Flokstra brings financial services experience and relationship-building capability with banking and insurance customers.
Flokstra said he expects to work with organisations at different stages of technology and resilience programmes. “Many financial services organisations have clear strategic priorities, but every organisation is at a different point in its journey. I’m looking forward to working closely with our customers, understanding where they need to go next and bringing together Interactive’s capabilities to help them improve resilience, accelerate transformation and deliver better outcomes for their customers and members.”
