Capgemini Australia and New Zealand expands executive team with the appointment of Olaf Pietschner as Chief Operating Officer

capgemini_logoCapgemini has announced the appointment of Olaf Pietschner as an Executive Vice President in the new role of Chief Operating Officer for Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to joining Capgemini Australia, Olaf held key executives roles as Chief Information Officer at Origin Energy and at News Corporation as IT Director. In these roles, he led the digital and technology agenda to effect operating model changes, cost optimisation and digital transformation while shifting to a high performing, customer centric and innovation led culture.  Between 2002 and 2004, Olaf was Principal at Capgemini Central Europe where he was responsible for complex and large IT services and outsourcing contracts.

Biography of Olaf Pietschner

Olaf Pietschner is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Capgemini Australia and New Zealand.

With over 25 years of experience, Olaf brings with him extensive experience in consulting and digital transformation across a number of leading organisations globally.  He has a strong record of delivering quantitative and qualitative measures of operational efficiencies while changing mindsets and culture to successfully realise a compelling digital vision for media, energy, technology and engineering businesses.

Prior to joining Capgemini, Olaf held key executives roles as Chief Information Officer at Origin Energy and at News Corporation as IT Director. In these roles, he had led the digital and technology agenda to effect operating model changes, cost optimisation and digital transformation while shifting to a high performing, customer centric and innovation led culture. Olaf was also Principal with Capgemini Central Europe between 2002 and 2004 where he was responsible for complex and large IT services and outsourcing contracts. He has also held the position of Partner at Deloitte in Australia.

Olaf holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Verwaltungs- und Wirtschaftsakademie in Bochum, Germany and has completed an Executive Leadership Program with MIT Sloan School of Management.
