Bitdefender has announced two key additions to its Australian Business Solutions Group team. Kevin Dyson joins as Regional Director, Australia & New Zealand, and Greg Ryan as Regional Sales Director. Both are experienced channel and enterprise technology leaders who have driven growth at large global cybersecurity and technology companies.
“Kevin and Greg are seasoned professionals who understand the Australian and New Zealand markets, the unique challenges organisations in the region face, and how to position Bitdefender’s business security solutions to meet their needs and increase cyber resilience,” said Steve Kelley, president and general manager of Bitdefender Business Solutions Group. “I’m confident they will continue to build our reputation as one of the world’s most trusted cybersecurity companies while expanding the range of enterprises and organisations benefitting from our innovations in threat prevention, detection and response technologies.”
Dyson brings decades of enterprise sales experience with leadership positions at technology and cybersecurity companies including Nokia Corporation, Check Point Software Technologies, and Fortinet.
According to Dyson, their appointments represent an investment in the channel at a time when enterprises are increasingly in need of effective cybersecurity in the face of changing market conditions and increased attack sophistication. It also represents a new energy and focus that, in his view, will continue to broaden Bitdefender’s reputation as an enterprise cybersecurity leader beyond its well-known consumer cybersecurity brand.
“We’re committed to building more awareness of the enterprise capabilities of Bitdefender in the A/NZ region,” Dyson said. “CISOs, and security teams struggle to keep up with the constantly changing threat landscape, supply chain security issues, and threats like ransomware. Bitdefender solutions are recognised by top third party tests like MITRE, AV-TEST and AV-Comparatives, as well as industry leading analyst firms for efficacy in detection and prevention, but also for ease of use and deployment, which are important to mid-sized and smaller organisations that make up the vast majority of the A/NZ market.”
Ryan also has deep experience in the technology and cybersecurity industries and has held sales and marketing leadership roles at IBM and Telstra, as well as strategic sales roles at FireEye (now Trellix), Wipro Limited and Cloudstaff.
According to Ryan, mid-sized organisations are a key focus area for selling Bitdefender in the A/NZ region.
“Bitdefender managed detection and response (MDR) offering is one of the best on the market and tailored for mid-sized organisations, such as those in the education, healthcare, local government and fintech/financial services markets who often have limited on-site security resources,” Ryan said. “Globally, we have seen growing adoption of Bitdefender MDR in these verticals, and believe that we can replicate this success here as well. I’m excited to join Bitdefender and help solve critical cybersecurity challenges A/NZ businesses continue to face.”
Dyson further explained that macro conditions in the region ideally position Bitdefender to support the cybersecurity needs of business and institutions through its growing number of Managed Services Providers (MSP) relationships. “In the face of skill shortages and rising wages, one of the most practical and cost-effective ways that small and mid-market organisations can augment their security posture is by leveraging MSPs. In my view, Bitdefender has strong MSP partnerships with solutions designed to help MSPs quickly get their customers up and running with Bitdefender cybersecurity solutions. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow our MSP business here in the region.”
