HPE AppPulse Web gives applications teams a unified view of key performance analytics to help enhance digital user monitoring and deliver high-quality, consistent user application experiences
Hewlett Packard Enterprise has announced the availability of HPE AppPulse Web, a new web-based module for HPE’s Application Performance Monitoring (APM) software solution—HPE AppPulse Suite. HPE AppPulse Web helps developers quickly analyse, identify, and correct problematic areas of the user experience by providing them with a holistic view of key performance monitoring analytics that connects them to faulty backend services and defective lines of code.
Maintaining an error-free application is a difficult task as applications have become more complex and are increasingly hosted from multiple locations, spanning multiple datacentres both on-premise or in the cloud. In addition, modern applications are built from clusters of services that bring specific logic to applications making them more complex to manage. New tools are required to ensure that all organisational teams are uniform in their measurement to build powerful, quality enterprise applications.
The HPE AppPulse Suite provides application teams a powerful and unified tool that combines synthetic, real-user and diagnostic monitoring to help businesses produce high-quality user experiences. A SaaS offering, the suite now consists of four fully integrated modules: AppPulse Active, AppPulse Trace, AppPulse Mobile and AppPulse Web.
Integrated with HPE Vertica, the AppPulse Suite – and by extension, HPE AppPulse Web – has access to the company’s advanced analytics engine to help application teams quickly find and fix application issues before difficulties impact end users. By leveraging all available data and presenting it within one simple web-based user interface, organisations can easily correlate user actions to issues with backend services – zeroing down to a single line of problematic code if needed.
“Businesses are consistently challenged to deliver a high quality user experience, without sacrificing build times,” said Brett Vincent, General Manager, HPE Software, Hewlett Packard Enterprise South Pacific. “Unfortunately, their development teams make subtle changes that disrupt other teams based on their measurement tools. HPE AppPulse Web is tailor-made to ingest great sums of data and present uniform results to ensure the entire business is on the same page when updates are made.”
Key features of HPE AppPulse Web include:
- FunDex Score – Provides a single user experience score based on page load times, AJAX HTTP errors and JS errors to measure user experience trends and improve the health of the application.
- Perceived Page Load Time – Identifies page load times from the user’s perspective to understand the length of time from initial request until the page is perceived to be rendered.
- Page Views with Errors by Type – Pinpoints the specific pages with inaccuracies to underscore which were impacted by AJAX, HTTP or JavaScript errors.
- End-to-end Isolation of Performance Issues – Drills from slow load times or AJAX calls to the line of code on the server side with HPE AppPulse Trace.
Availability and Additional Information
AppPulse Web is available now along with the latest versions of AppPulse Active, AppPulse Trace and AppPulse Mobile. Additional updates to the AppPulse Suite of products include:
- AppPulse Active – Integrated with HPE Mobile Center to enable applications teams to run scripts of user sessions on a wide variety of devices hosted in the Amazon Device Farm and to quickly find flaws in the user experience and improve the UX.
- AppPulse Trace – Introduction of Application & Services Health for visibility into the health of disparate micro services in terms of response time, failures and throughput for detection of service problems.
