Enterprise software company Orbus Software has acquired the Australian company Capsifi, a Sydney-based provider of business architecture solutions. The transaction marks a strategic move to combine the experience and specialism of these two SaaS leaders.
Capsifi specialises in business architecture management, providing enterprises with a strategic command centre that unifies insights across strategy, IT, and operations.
Orbus’s enterprise transformation platform, OrbusInfinity, enables enterprises to generate a digital blueprint of their organisation.
The combined offering will see Orbus integrate Capsifi’s business architecture capability into OrbusInfinity to create a comprehensive strategic enterprise transformation platform.
The acquisition will provide significant benefits for a range of stakeholders. For IT architecture teams and IT leadership, a robust business architecture capability will enable them to have strategy conversations with business stakeholders.
For business architecture, strategy, and transformation teams, it will offer deep insights and an ability to influence the technologies and platforms that underpin their operations. And for executive leadership, the enriched digital blueprint will provide a comprehensive digital command centre to guide strategic transformation initiatives.
The two companies also share a joint focus on research and development investment into AI that aims to transform their customers’ ability to identify opportunities and risks and rapidly iterate enterprise scenarios.
“We are extremely pleased to be joining forces with Capsifi,” said Orbus Software CEO Gareth Burton. “This acquisition will create the most comprehensive, cloud-native enterprise architecture platform in our market. Combining two leading SaaS platforms provides a considerable uplift to our business architecture offering.”
“Orbus is a well-established leader with over 20 years’ experience supporting customers through their transformation initiatives,” said Capsifi CEO Ian McAdam. “This partnership advances our business architecture roadmap by adding powerful new features like the native iPaaS, AI, and workflow automation engine (OrbusInfinity Flow), and online diagramming (OrbusInfinity Draw).”
The acquisition of Capsifi by Orbus also lays the foundation for a Digital Twin of the Organisation (DTO) platform, which combines enterprise architecture models with live business performance and operational data to facilitate a flow of insights and provide a comprehensive, real-time model of the business.  With it, organisations can test, refine, and adapt strategic initiatives in real time, reducing risks and improving change management.
DTO is a rapidly emerging technology sector which Orbus and Capsifi both see as the natural evolution of EA platforms, and which will ultimately underpin all enterprise transformation decisions. The acquisition will ultimately focus on realising a DTO to support truly connected enterprises that understand how their organisations operationalise their business models, deploy resources, and deliver customer value.
Orbus Software and Capsifi share a common history with deep expertise of business and technology architecture and change management, a common investment in leading cloud-native platforms in a market still constrained by legacy players, and a common vision of the evolution of EA platforms to become the DTO, underpinning all enterprise change decisions.
The acquisition further bolsters Orbus Software’s footprint as a global SaaS business, with approximately 300 employees working from offices in New York, London, Dubai, Sydney, Singapore and Katowice, and serving around 700 customers across more than 50 countries.
Capsifi strengthens Orbus Software’s global reach with its APAC-focused expertise. Serving clients across the APAC region, the US, and Europe, Capsifi will reinforce Orbus’s extensive industry experience in key sectors, including insurance, financial services, retail and manufacturing, government, and healthcare.
