ZBeta has expanded its leadership structure with the appointment of senior executives Conal O’Doherty and Jesse “JJ” Knutson as principals of the firm. Both have held key roles within the organisation, with O’Doherty serving as Chief Growth Officer and Knutson as Chief Operating Officer. The move formalises their influence in shaping ZBeta’s strategic direction and operational priorities, and they will continue working alongside CEO Zack Brunette.
The company specialises in physical security consulting and has worked with large enterprises, including Amazon, Microsoft and Wells Fargo, on security program design, engineering and operational strategy. ZBeta positions its approach around integrating security into organisational workflows with minimal friction, aiming to align governance, design and technology with broader business objectives.
Knutson, who has more than 25 years of experience across systems integration, engineering, manufacturing and security program development, has overseen ZBeta’s consulting, design and engineering activities. His background includes work on security operations centres, data centres, financial environments and critical infrastructure.
O’Doherty has been closely involved in the firm’s corporate strategy, brand development and organisational culture initiatives. His work has centred on strengthening internal performance, guiding talent development and building client relationships.
The appointments reflect ZBeta’s intention to reinforce its long-term focus on evolving how organisations design and manage their security programs. Brunette said both executives have been central to the firm’s progress and will play a key role in its next phase of development.
