DX1 appoints Tim Hope as group CTO

Australian technology company DX1 has appointed Tim Hope as its new group chief technology officer, tasking the former Versent CTO with leading technology strategy and partnerships as the company expands its AI, data and cloud work.

DX1 said Hope brings more than 20 years of experience. His background includes helping drive Versent’s shift toward an “AI-first” approach, contributing to a strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services, and leading one of National Australia Bank’s early major banking deployments on AWS.

The appointment follows DX1’s 2025 acquisition of Australian data consultancy Innablr and what the company described as 20 per cent growth over the past year. DX1 is positioning the move as part of an effort to help Australian organisations move from AI experimentation to production deployment, with an emphasis on data foundations, security and governance.

DX1 CEO Alex Rea said Hope’s experience was relevant as local organisations “start thinking seriously about how to put emerging technologies into production”, and pointed to the company’s DevOps and DevSecOps work, Innablr’s data focus and relationships with AWS and Databricks.

Hope said AI is reaching an inflection point for enterprise adoption and argued that safe deployment at scale requires “engineering rigour, robust data foundations and strict governance”.

In the role, Hope will also oversee DX1’s strategic technology partnerships, including its relationship with AWS.
