Xero (@Xero) has announced it will create 50 new technology jobs across Australia.
Xero currently employs 255 people in Australia (305 projected by year end) across Sales, Support, Marketing, Design, Business Services and Product Development, up from just 7 employees in 2009.
The product team in Melbourne builds features not only for the local market, but develops product from scratch for other regions including the US. Most recently they have launched TaxTouch, an app for freelancers to record their expenses in America, and Xero Tax, the first Australian tax solution developed from a clean sheet in 15 years.
Victorian Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade, the Hon Philip Dalidakis MP, joined Xero Australia Managing Director Trent Innes in announcing the recruitment spree in a visit to Xero headquarters in Melbourne, which spans multiple buildings in Hawthorn.
“Xero is experiencing tremendous growth, reflected not only in the number of small businesses that use our platform, but also our expanding network of technology and banking partners. What we are building in our backyard is having real, global impact for over 700,000 paying subscribers around the world and we’re proud to be creating more jobs in Australia,” Mr Innes said.
Xero is hiring for the new positions immediately, with openings available in Development, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Business Services. Xero was ranked #1 by Forbes as the World’s Most Innovative Growth Company, and there are now more than 312,000 paying subscribers in Australia.
