Akamai has appointed Louis Tague as regional vice president and managing director for Australia and New Zealand, reporting to Sean Li, senior vice president and managing director for Asia Pacific.

In the role, Tague will have responsibility for Akamai’s business in Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on customer and partner relationships and on supporting organisations as they build and secure digital services, including AI-related workloads.

“The region is an important market for Akamai, and our customers need a leader who understands both the local environment and the pressures they face,” Li said. “Louis knows this market well and has built strong teams and grown enterprise technology businesses in both markets. I am confident he will build on the foundation already in place and bring our teams, customers and partners even closer together.”

“I am excited to join Akamai and work with the team across ANZ,” Tague said. “Akamai has strong customer relationships and a broad set of security, AI and cloud capabilities. I look forward to learning more from our employees, customers and partners to understand where we can help most and make it easier for customers to put the full value of Akamai to work.”

Tague joins Akamai with more than 20 years of enterprise technology sales and leadership experience in Australia and New Zealand. He has held senior leadership roles at CrowdStrike, Google Cloud Security, Mandiant/FireEye and Veritas, according to the company.

The appointment comes as Akamai reported crossing US$1 billion in revenue in the Asia Pacific region earlier this year.
