CrowdStrike has announced a partnership with CyberCert aimed at helping small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Australia and New Zealand improve cybersecurity and prepare for SMB1001 certification.

According to the companies, the arrangement pairs the CrowdStrike Falcon platform with CyberCert’s SMB1001 certification services, and is positioned to be delivered through managed security services partners (MSSPs) supporting SMB customers.

The announcement comes during Cybersecurity Awareness Month and NSW Small Business Month. The companies said SMBs face increasingly sophisticated threats but often lack the resources and expertise available to larger organisations. SMB1001 is described as a multi-level certification framework intended to help SMBs assess and progressively strengthen cybersecurity maturity.

As part of the partnership, CrowdStrike and CyberCert said qualifying customers and MSSPs will, for a limited time, receive complimentary SMB1001 certification credits. The companies said the offer is intended to allow MSSPs to bundle managed security services using Falcon with SMB1001 certification services for SMB clients.

“SMBs face increasingly sophisticated AI threats without the security resources of the world’s largest enterprises,” said Jon Fox, Vice President of Channels and Alliances, CrowdStrike Japan and Asia Pacific. “Together with CyberCert, we’re giving MSSPs a powerful way to bring enterprise-grade, AI-native protection to more SMBs while helping customers advance their cybersecurity maturity.”

“Today’s threat landscape demands SMBs strengthen their cybersecurity while keeping pace with evolving standards,” said Ryan Ettridge, Co-Founder and CEO of CyberCert. “By partnering with CrowdStrike, we’re enabling MSSPs to help SMBs progress toward SMB1001 certification while building stronger cyber defences with the Falcon platform.”

CyberCert said it is the certification body behind SMB1001, which it describes as an international cybersecurity standard designed for small and midsize businesses and recognised by insurers, enterprises and governments.
