Duos Technologies Group has appointed Dipan Patel as chief operating officer, effective immediately, with Patel reporting to chief executive Doug Recker.

The company said Patel will be responsible for operational delivery of its edge AI data centres and GPU-as-a-Service platforms across the United States, as it expands modular edge data centre and colocation services.

Patel most recently served as a digital infrastructure solutions executive at Telstra InfraCo, where he was responsible for product strategy, solution innovation and commercial monetisation across what the company described as a $25B-plus national portfolio of data centres, fibre networks, exchange facilities and critical communications infrastructure.

Before Telstra InfraCo, Patel was executive vice president of strategy, technology and new business initiatives at SBA Communications Corporation, where he founded the company’s corporate growth division and led infrastructure investments in data centres, power solutions and open access fibre networks. Earlier roles included positions at Cox Communications and Accenture.

“Dipan brings a unique combination of deep infrastructure, technology, and operational leadership experience that aligns directly with our Company’s next phase of growth,” Recker said. “His track record of building and scaling businesses across data centres and communications infrastructure will be instrumental as we expand our Edge AI platform and execute on our growth objectives.”

Patel said the company was positioned to expand as demand for AI infrastructure increases. “AI is driving a once-in-a-generation infrastructure buildout, and Duos already has a proven modular platform and a team that can move fast,” he said.

Patel holds a PhD in digital communications and a bachelor of engineering degree in information systems engineering from Imperial College London. He is a senior member of the IEEE and holds 12 granted domestic and international patents.
