Ernst & Young Australia has welcomed Philena Franc to the role of technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) leader, Oceania. Franc takes on the role after two years as EY’s Asia-Pacific technology strategy and transformation competency leader, and brings over 25 years of global technology and consulting experience within the TMT industry.

Franc will support the EY organisation in the Oceania region in the evolving spaces of AI, cyber and risk, and sustainability, with a focus on big-picture growth.

Franc’s experience and global network includes time at Capgemini, Amdocs, and AT&T, specialising in digital transformation, telecommunications business value, operations, technology, and 5G innovation.

Her leadership has been key in several large transformation programs, leading business integration and orchestrating governance across multi-vendor engagements.

As a special focus, Franc has also worked to accelerate industrial uptake of advanced communications-powered digital transformation of operational technology in the APAC region, including designing business value models for 5G and metaverse use cases for industries.

“TMT is about more than business and networks – it’s an enabler of economic development, an elevator of quality of life, a geographical bridge to the digital economy and economically isolated communities, and a lifeline and safety net for people at risk,” said Franc. “TMT makes the world more accessible, more connected, more equal, more prosperous, and less dangerous.”
