Fastly has appointed Peter Scott as its Australia and New Zealand channel manager, tasking him with expanding the company’s partner network and channel activities across the region.
Based in Melbourne, Scott will be responsible for channel partner development, including recruiting partners aligned to Fastly’s product and services portfolio. The company said the role will target multiple industry segments including media, e-commerce, logistics, retail and communications.
Fastly said Scott has more than 15 years’ experience in the IT industry and joined the company four years ago as Asia Pacific senior account manager before being promoted to its first key account manager. In that role, the company said he developed its strategic account management ecosystem in Asia Pacific and grew adoption of its managed services.
“Fastly is going through a transition in the region with the channel playing a critical part of our market momentum, said Peter Scott. “We have a unique offering in the market enabling our partners to offer services in areas such as web application firewalls, automated DDoS and bot protection, and object storage without the overhead of egress costs which will enable partners to pass savings onto customers. I’m looking forward to building mutual wins with partners and expanding our partner channel to benefit both Fastly as well as our partners and customers.”
The appointment follows Fastly’s introduction late last year of its Fastly Certified Services Partner Program, which the company said provides training and certification for technical security professionals at partner organisations to implement and manage Fastly security products.
Fastly said the program is intended to help partners expand service portfolios and provide customers with additional options for deploying and managing security infrastructure.
Bruce Bennie, AVP, ANZ at Fastly, said, “We are actively recruiting channel partners in Australia and New Zealand who can offer clear differentiation and skills specialisation in key market segments. We see strong alliance engagement as an integral part of Fastly’s ongoing success and look forward to Peter Scott driving profitable relationships with our partners and delivering an enhanced experience for our customers.”
