Melbourne-headquartered GapMaps has appointed Peter Holmes as chief executive officer, as the company pursues international growth across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, North America and Europe.

The company said Holmes will lead core operations, customer strategy and global go-to-market execution, with a focus on enterprise growth and strategic partnerships.

GapMaps said its GapMaps Live software-as-a-service platform is used to support physical network expansion decisions, including identifying new locations, forecasting performance before opening and optimising store networks. The company said the platform integrates multi-country datasets, trade area methodologies and AI-driven insights.

“GapMaps is uniquely positioned at the intersection of data, AI, and real-world expansion,” Holmes said.

“Our customers are no longer looking for isolated insights. They need an end-to-end system that helps them decide where to grow and execute locally with real precision. That’s exactly what GapMaps delivers, and why I’m excited to lead the business through this next phase of global growth.”

Founder and managing director Anthony Villanti said the appointment marked “an important moment” for the company and cited Holmes’ experience scaling SaaS businesses and driving commercial performance.

GapMaps said it will continue investing in AI, automation and global data infrastructure, with the aim of bringing network strategy, performance forecasting and local activation into a single platform.
