Dynamics NAV Specialist TSO-DATA joins M-Files Global Partner Program; drives unified integration of M-Files and Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP solution with out-of-the-box DMS connector

M-Files Corporation has announced TSO-DATA has joined the M-Files Global Partner Program as a silver partner. Based in Germany, TSO-DATA serves as a leading expert for Microsoft Dynamics with a clear focus on medium-sized customers and their special requirements.

Under the partnership, TSO-DATA developed a document management system (DMS) connector, which allows for an effortless integration of M-Files with Microsoft’s Dynamics NAV ERP solution. Electronic documents such as quotes, orders, invoices and emails that result from NAV master data and processes can be easily transferred and automatically archived to M-Files. In doing so, M-Files automatically enriches all documents from NAV with the appropriate metadata that establishes the business context of the document. The automatic keywording increases the data and process quality and reduces the process costs.

The three essential processes of the connector - connecting M-Files and Dynamics NAV

The integration also allows for users to manually link files via a “drag and drop” feature. By creating “content in context,” users do not have to worry about filing or folder structures. All stored documents can be quickly retrieved via linked metadata with clearly visible relationships between different documents.

Scanned documents can be easily viewed with the preview viewer in Dynamics NAV and assigned corresponding processes. Users of Dynamics NAV can continue to work with the system, while ensuring they have access to all relevant documents whenever needed.

“M-Files offers our mid-market customers an excellent price-performance ratio and opens up the benefits of intelligent document and information management with a particularly simple and intuitive user experience and efficient implementation times,” says Dirk Frommeyer, managing director at TSO-DATA. “Just like TSO-DATA, M-Files puts a strong emphasis on Microsoft technology, so integrating M-Files into our product portfolio was very easy.”

The M-Files connector for Microsoft Dynamics NAV is now available as a Microsoft-certified add-on for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, which are supported out-of-the-box. Support for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 (RTC) and NAV 2013 can be provided as an individual project request. The connector can be obtained directly from TSO-DATA and there are different models for licensing.

“Our connector technology has already proven itself in numerous Dynamics NAV projects,” explains Andreas Blom, M-Files and Microsoft Dynamics Sales at TSO-DATA. “Dynamics NAV and M-Files complement each other perfectly. We provide NAV users with the convenience of intelligent document management with automated tagging and context-sensitive linking of relevant information across all sources.”

With M-Files 2018, it is particularly easy to connect any application and data source to M-Files as a platform for intelligent information management. All existing documents and data can be uniformly enriched, linked with metadata and edited in M-Files, without the need to migrate the data to M-Files. Instead, users can continue to work in their familiar environment as before, without having to switch to a new system – or make use of the modern, easy-to-use M-Files clients on any device.

Channel partners can also develop their own connectors to applications and data sources and market them with the support of M-Files.

“We are always excited when innovative specialists with a strong application focus like TSO-DATA develop M-Files connectors. It is a win-win situation for the partner as well as our customers. Providing a connector illustrates the expertise of the partner and M-Files offers additional differentiation for this portfolio,” says Greg Milliken, senior vice president of marketing at M-Files. “With the growing bandwidth of connectors, more applications are opening up for M-Files and more users can benefit from our revolutionary easy-to-use, repository neutral and relevance-based approach to intelligent information management.”
