Email security company boosts Australian channel headcount and appoints new Channel Director, Craig McGregor

Mimecast Limited (NASDAQ: MIME), has announced Craig McGregor as Channel Director, Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).

McGregor will be responsible for the leadership and day-to-day execution of channel strategy. He will lead the nine-strong local channel team, which has almost doubled in size following continuing strong demand for Mimecast’s cloud-based email security services.

He brings more than 20 years of experience in ANZ channels and international technology vendors, including having held similar roles at Microsoft, Adobe and Check Point Software Technologies. Most recently he was Director, Channel Sales APAC at SailPoint.

“We’re a channel-focused company and strive to understand all of our partners’ businesses, making sure Mimecast is critical to their success,” said Nick Lennon, Country Manager, Australia and New Zealand, Mimecast. “I’m convinced Craig will play a key role in supporting our partner’s growth. His background and extensive networks will help our partners deliver their business plans.”

“Mimecast is investing heavily in the channel and I’m looking forward to build strong relationships with our partners,” said Craig McGregor Channel Director, Australia and New Zealand, Mimecast.

This appointment marks the culmination of a busy year for Mimecast. In addition to reaching more than 1200 customers and more than 120 partners within the ANZ region, the company recently established a direct presence in Brisbane, Perth and Auckland to bolster its on-ground support.

Last month the company launched its Cyber Alliance Program, providing customers with access to ready-to-use integrations from market-leading vendors meaning they can leverage their current investments to better prepare for new threats.

It also unveiled the Mimecast Supervision Solution, which when integrated with Cloud Archive, means users can facilitate auditable, managed supervision review processes. And Mimecast launched the Global Threat Centre which uses email, web and anonymised user data to offer threat intelligence insights to security professionals and customers.

In the past 18 months, the company acquired Ataata, a cyber training and awareness platform that helps change security cultures in organisations, and Solebit, which led to the introduction of Mimecast’s Threat Intelligence Dashboard capability.
