Progress launches ShareFile Enterprise for large, regulated organisations

Progress Software has launched ShareFile Enterprise, a new offering aimed at larger and regulated organisations seeking to manage sensitive document collaboration from a single platform, with added governance and security capabilities.

In a press release, Progress said ShareFile Enterprise combines automated access, SOC-connected visibility, native data loss prevention (DLP), risk monitoring and investigation context to give IT and security teams more oversight of document workflows without disrupting users.

The company positioned the release as a response to growing volumes of sensitive collaboration outpacing the controls used to manage it, particularly where teams rely on manual provisioning, disconnected monitoring workflows, log exports and fragmented investigations.

John Yang, Vice President, APJ for Progress Software, said: “Enterprise growth increasingly depends on how effectively organisations can collaborate across complex networks of employees, customers and partners. The leaders we speak with are looking for ways to scale those interactions without adding friction to the business. ShareFile Enterprise helps address that challenge with a platform built for the needs of large organisations.”

Progress said ShareFile Enterprise includes SCIM provisioning with Microsoft Entra ID to automate provisioning and deactivation, and SIEM integration with Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel to route ShareFile activity and security events into existing SOC tools.

The company also said native DLP, user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA), and a centralised security operations experience are available as of October 1, 2026. Progress said the DLP capability can detect supported sensitive text-based content and apply policies to alert, restrict external sharing or prevent downloads, while UEBA analyses activity patterns to surface unusual behaviour such as abnormal downloads, off-hours activity or atypical access patterns.

Scott Jenkins, Director of Information Technology at Keel Point, said: “What became clear to us is that client collaboration is about much more than where files live. We need the right controls, secure client experiences and workflows to support how we work with clients, families and their advisors. ShareFile gives us that foundation, and Enterprise gives us an opportunity to strengthen it with even greater security, governance and visibility.”

Loren Jarrett, EVP and General Manager, Digital Experience, Progress Software, said: “For most of the last decade, as enterprises’ needs for document collaboration have scaled, they have had to layer manual security and administration work on top of the tools their teams use. With today’s governance and security standards, that model is reaching its limits.”

The launch comes as organisations face increasing regulatory expectations around data handling and security monitoring, alongside broader adoption of collaboration tools that can widen exposure to data leakage, misconfiguration and insider risk if governance does not keep pace.
