WatchGuard Certifies Record Number of ANZ Partners in Drive to Support Regional Growth

WatchguardWatchGuard Technologies has announced it has certified a record number of partners across Australia and New Zealand to help propel and support market growth for its range of best-in-class network security services for small to medium sized organisations.  As the first line of defense in organisations, properly configured, maintained and operated network security solutions are an essential element in ensuring that computer systems, employees and sensitive information are protected.

In an effort to improve the management of customer and channel network security solutions, WatchGuard facilitated certifications across sales, demonstration, technical essentials or advanced competency skills for more than 250 individuals during 2015. This includes more than 70 partner executives or engineers that currently have technical essentials certifications which required attendance at a two hour examination through Kryterion third-party testing centres or the completion of an examination taken remotely using approved equipment and supervision.

In total, more than 450 attendees participated in the WatchGuard Fireware Essentials and Advanced courses across the region last year.  This involved either attending Fireware Essentials Training, a two-day intensive course, or Fireware Advanced Training, a one day intensive course conducted by experienced WatchGuard engineers across several locations, including Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Auckland and Christchurch.

“We are very conscious of our channel partners’ hard work and dedication in helping us to achieve our success and want to ensure that we provide them with the best training, support and resources so they can deliver better services to existing and potential customers. The record number of certified individuals working within our partner network is testament to the effectiveness of our WatchGuardONE Channel Partner Program as well as their desire to obtain industry leading qualification and support end user customers through technical excellence,” said David Higgins, Regional Director – Australia and New Zealand, WatchGuard Technologies.

WatchGuard’s training and certification program forms part of the WatchGuardONE program launched in 2014.  The program aims to develop the technical knowledge and skills of WatchGuard’s global channel to ensure services are being effectively delivered with a long-term business mindset.

By reinforcing customer satisfaction and channel confidence, WatchGuard aims to ensure that WatchGuard’s small-to-medium sized network security solutions are well placed to compete in the Australian and New Zealand market from both a solution and operational perspective.  At the same time, the WatchGuardONE program has been designed to refresh, reward and strengthen the technical skills of existing partners in the Australian and New Zealand markets whilst providing a comprehensive world-class program for supporting new customers.
