Kaseya has announced new capabilities for Datto RMM aimed at helping managed service providers (MSPs) meet compliance requirements and manage Apple devices within the same remote monitoring and management platform. The company said the updates will roll out from October 2026, following announcements made at its Kaseya Connect Edge virtual event.
The updates include support for FIPS 140-3 validated cryptography, which Kaseya said is intended to help MSPs and IT teams serve customers in regulated sectors such as government, healthcare, finance and defence. The company said the capability is built into Datto RMM, uses a NIST-validated cryptographic module, and can be enabled via an account-wide toggle that is off by default.
Kaseya said the FIPS 140-3 cryptography covers Datto RMM’s core communication channels and is designed to provide “audit-ready logging” from the outset. It also said the change is intended to avoid disrupting operational functions such as patching, automation, monitoring and remote control.
“As regulatory requirements continue to evolve, MSPs and IT teams shouldn’t have to choose between compliance and operational efficiency,” said Pratik Wadher, Chief Technology Officer at Kaseya. “At Kaseya, we’re making it easier for organisations to pursue opportunities in highly regulated industries while continuing to leverage the automation, visibility and security capabilities they rely on every day. This is yet another example of how Kaseya is removing barriers and helping customers stay ahead of what’s next.”
The second major change is the addition of native Apple mobile device management (MDM) within Datto RMM. Kaseya said the feature will allow technicians to enrol, configure and manage iOS, iPadOS and macOS devices alongside other endpoints, including Windows devices, through integration with Apple Business Manager.
According to Kaseya, the Apple MDM capability will enable individual or bulk enrolment, application of security and compliance policies, app deployment, and remote actions without leaving Datto RMM. The company said Apple devices will also appear in existing dashboards, filters and compliance reports to provide unified visibility across device types.
Kaseya also said Daniel Garcia, Vice President and General Manager at Kaseya APAC, is available for interview about what the changes mean for MSPs managing mixed-device fleets and pursuing work in regulated environments across Australia and New Zealand.
