DigiCert previews Quantum Central tool for post-quantum cryptography planning

DigiCert has announced a preview release of Quantum Central, a self-service tool aimed at helping organisations start preparing for post-quantum cryptography (PQC) migration.

The product sits within the company’s DigiCert ONE portfolio and is intended to give security and IT teams visibility into where cryptography is used across their environments, including by discovering and inventorying cryptographic assets and identifying systems the company says may be vulnerable to quantum-era threats.

The announcement reflects growing industry focus on “quantum readiness”, as organisations assess the potential future impact of sufficiently capable quantum computers on widely used public-key algorithms. For many enterprises, the challenge is less about selecting new algorithms and more about locating certificates, keys, and crypto dependencies across applications, infrastructure, and devices before migration planning can begin.

According to DigiCert, Quantum Central is designed to help teams prioritise remediation, create change requests, and track progress against a migration roadmap.

“Quantum readiness starts with visibility,” said Kevin Hilscher, Senior Director of Product Management at DigiCert. “Organisations know the risk, but most don’t know where their cryptography lives or how to begin migrating. DigiCert Quantum Central helps them inventory their cryptographic assets, prioritise action, and confidently prepare for the transition to post-quantum cryptography.”

DigiCert said the preview includes functions to discover and inventory cryptographic assets, identify and prioritise remediation efforts, plan and track PQC migration activities with Jira integration, and measure readiness while accessing PQC educational resources.
