Open-pit mine technology and services company MaxMine has appointed Shaun Mitchell as its chief operations officer. In his new role, he will focus on elevating the company’s strategy and developing tactical plans to drive operational excellence, innovation and long-term growth.
Mitchell will also play a key role in cementing MaxMine’s position as a leader in delivering crystal-clear visibility and groundbreaking productivity, sustainability, and safety results for open-pit mine sites, with or without existing technology solutions.

Mitchell has a track record of scaling several global technology companies across various industries, including construction, digital media, transportation, ERP software, and defence. He joins MaxMine from consulting firm 9X5, where he served as CCO.
He brings over two decades of experience, having held senior leadership roles at global cloud-based business management software provider ECi Software Solutions and Australian home builder Metricon. His achievements include growing businesses and spearheading the development of new software-as-a-service products.
As a technology leader with strong commercial acumen, Mitchell has also been instrumental in transforming operations, implementing AI and machine learning solutions, and improving corporate governance and cybersecurity.
