Nutanix updates service provider program with multitenancy plans and VMware migration incentives

Nutanix has announced platform and program updates for partners in its Nutanix Elevate Service Provider Program, including plans for new multitenant cloud capabilities and incentives aimed at service providers transitioning from VMware.

The announcement, made at the company’s .NEXT Conference in Chicago on April 7, includes a planned product called Service Provider Central, which Nutanix said will be available in the second half of 2026. Nutanix said the product is intended to provide multitenant Infrastructure as a Service on its Nutanix Cloud Platform, positioning it as an option for VMware Cloud Service Provider partners seeking alternatives.

According to Nutanix, Service Provider Central will be managed through Nutanix Central and is designed to allow service providers to run multiple tenants on shared infrastructure with automated workflows. Tenants would each have a private cloud environment and access to Nutanix Prism for managing compute, storage, networking, identity and authorisation, while providers retain centralised governance and operational control.

The company also introduced a partner validation initiative called “Powered by Nutanix: Verified Solutions”. Nutanix said the program is intended to verify service provider offerings aligned with Nutanix best practices and architectural standards. It initially covers private cloud services, with badges for Infrastructure as a Service—including Sovereign IaaS—and Disaster Recovery as a Service, with Nutanix indicating it plans to expand to services such as Desktop as a Service and cloud-native solutions.

In addition, Nutanix said it will offer onboarding incentives for providers moving from VMware, allowing eligible service providers to access Nutanix software at a “nominal” monthly commitment during an initial promotional period. The incentive applies to new consumption subscriptions of three years or longer tied to VMware replacements, which Nutanix said is intended to reduce the cost of running both platforms during migration.

“Service providers are at the heart of helping customers modernise and adopt cloud operating models on their terms,” said Tarkan Maner, President and Chief Commercial Officer, Nutanix. “With the Nutanix Cloud Platform and our Elevate Service Provider Program, we will deliver multitenant capabilities, flexible licensing, and the go-to-market support partners need to build differentiated offerings that drive growth and long-term customer value.”

Partner commentary in the release included statements from Continent 8 Technologies, DartPoints, Expedient and ITS Integra, which cited multitenancy, security and operational flexibility as drivers for service provider adoption.
